Play Task Force Members Sought
In 2010, the City of Brentwood was designated as a Playful City USA by KaBOOM!, a national non-profit dedicated to saving play, because of its determination to prioritize play and ensure that children are healthy by providing the time and space for play. Only 118 cities across the country were recognized as 2010 Playful City USA communities and Brentwood is proud to receive the honor for three years in a row.
Brentwood has re-applied to be designated as a Playful City for the fourth year and is currently seeking individuals interested in promoting play to join their Play Task Force. The Play Task Force meets four times a year to identify opportunities to further engage Brentwood residents, encourage active use of Brentwood's 57 parks, and identify park improvement projects. Additionally, members assist with planning all Play Day events, volunteer at the events, and spread the word about play to others in the community. Anyone with a heart for play is encouraged to contact the Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department at 516-5366 to join the Play Task Force. Members must be at least 12 years old and a Brentwood resident.
