The most wonderful time of the year is fast

approaching. The winter weather is upon us and the stores are now adorned with greens and reds. The season of hot chocolates, peppermint-scented candles, and holiday bazaars and parades is just around the corner!

 

EverythingBrentwood.com strives to get the area’s Holiday events in your calendars, especially to those of you who are new to the area. Below are the ones we have information on at present, and we will continue to add events as we get them. If you know of any other Holiday events in the Brentwood and East Contra Costa County area, please share them through our Brentwood Events Calendar.

 

 

Brentwood Winter Fest, November 18, 2013 to January 6, 2014 at Brentwood Blvd and Technology Way (the same lot as this year’s Cornfest). Ice Skating ($10 includes skate rentals for all ages), inflatables, Christmas tree lot, snack bar, pedal cart races, Santa visits, games, and more.

 

Holiday Parade, Winter Walk About, and a Taste of Downtown on
November 23, 2013 (Saturday)
from 3:00 – 8:00 PM in Downtown Brentwood

 

Winter Walk About from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. Arts and crafts boutiques, goodies and crafts for kids, “Santa’s Village” inside All Inked Up Bookstore, Christmas carolers, strolling minstrels, hot chocolate.

 

Downtown Tasting Tour from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.  Enjoy cuisine samples from Downtown restaurants. $10 per person in advance, $15 that day and will-call tickets available at Cre’me dela Gem Jewelry and CoCo County Wine Store. See a list of participating restaurants and more information on our Brentwood Events page.

 

31st Annual Holiday Parade “Walking in a Wonderland” from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Starts on First Street at Chestnut; turns on Pine, then on Second Street to City Park. Bring chairs and blankets. This will be a lighted parade.

 

These events are presented by the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce and the Brentwood Downtown Coalition.

 

Brentwood Holiday on Ice is open from November 23, 2013 to January 5, 2014. Now on its 6th season, located at the Streets of Brentwood. Hours of Operation is from 12:30 to 10:30 p.m.

 

Annual Holiday Tree Lighting on November 30, 2013 (Saturday), 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Streets of  Brentwood. A night of holiday festivities! Welcome Santa as he lights the tree. Plus, a free train ride in the Plaza aboard the Party Line Express.

 

Brentwood’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on December 6, 2013 (Friday) at the City Park in Downtown Brentwood.  Festivities start at 6:00 pm and include music and singing, followed at 7:00 pm by the official lighting of the Christmas tree. This event is sponsored by the City of Brentwood and the Brentwood Advisory Neighborhood Committee (BANC). Check out the event flyer here.

 

Oakley Christmas Tree Lighting on December 7, 2013 (Saturday) at 5:00 p.m. at the Oakley Civic Center Plaza. Includes crafts, games, caroling, cookies, hot cocoa, and more!  Be sure to bring your camera for photos with Santa. Check out Oakley’s Fall/Winter Recreation Guide for more details.

 

The 11th Annual Discovery Bay Parade of Lights on December 7, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. The Discovery Bay Parade of Lights wind its way through the streets of Discovery Bay, from Marina Road to Discovery Bay Boulevard. The parade features thousand of participants with lighted floats, dancers, marching bands, and more!  More information here: www.paradeoflights.wordpress.com

 

The 37th Annual Holiday Run & Walk for Health on December 14, 2013 (Saturday). Registration starts at 7:30 am, Contra Loma Regional Park, 1200 Frederickson Lane, Antioch, CA. This race event will benefit local schools, youth, and libraries. For more information on the event and how to register, check out www.holidayrun.org.

 

Breakfast with Santa on December 14, 2013 (Saturday) at 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. at Black Bear Diner. Bring your camera to capture the moment and enjoy a tasty brunch with Santa. Adults get 2 pancakes, 1 egg scrambled, 1 piece of bacon and 1 piece of sausage, coffee or milk for $9.00. Kids 12 and under get 1 pancake, egg, bacon, sausage and a small milk for $7.00. Space is limited, pre-registration is required at the Oakley City Hall. Check out Oakley’s Fall/Winter Recreation Guide for more details.

 

Santa’s Helper Shop Till You Drop Daycare (Ages 4-10) December 14, 2013 (Saturday), 1:00 – 5:00 pm at the Brentwood Community Center. Let your kids play and do arts and crafts while you shop! Santa Claus is Coming to Town! December 14, 2013 (Saturday) from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm at the Sand Creek Crossing. A magical day with Santa, a balloonist, train rides, face painter, and more. Bring your camera and take a photo with Santa!  Activities start at Raley’s.

 

The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church presents "A Christmas Gala Concert" on December 15 (Sunday) at 7:45 pm, featuring the IHM Choirs and Chamber Orchestra with special guests from The Hilltop Christian School Handbell Ringers and Children's Choir. Doors open at 7:15 pm. Tickets are sold for $8 until 12/8/13; It will be $12 thereafter. Please contact IHM Church at 925-634-4154 ext. 112 to purchase your tickets.

 

The Ballet Company of East County presents its 9th annual production of The Nutcracker on December 21 and 22, 2013 at 12:00 noon and 4:00 p.m. at the El Campanil Theater in Antioch, CA.

 

A family tradition! There will also be a special meet and greet opportunity between shows... meet and take pictures with the cast! Tickets go on sale October 1. New Year's Eve 'Touch of Class' Party on December 31 (Tuesday) at 9:00 p.m - 1:00 a.m. at Uptown 1st Street Lounge. Presale tickets are $10 available at the bar until the 30th. Regular ticket costs $15 at the door. Tickets include free champagne and appetizers. DJ Mist will be playing.
