Brentwood Rotary, First Bank and Kohl’s sponsored a very special event this past weekend (8/10/13). With funds raised by the members of the Brentwood Rotary Club, 24 needy children from Brentwood and Knightsen were given the opportunity to get new school clothes during a 2 hour shopping spree!

24 members of the Brentwood Rotary club along with some spouses and children, helped these children get the new school clothes they need. This is one of the Brentwood Rotary club's largest service projects and one that is near and dear to the members' hearts. Every child deserves nice new clothes in which to start the school year. One member even fitted himself and his shopper with web cameras so that all the excitement could be captured live. Our club photographer was also present.

These children come from both the Brentwood School District and the Knightsen School District. They are given a $100 gift card from the Rotary club and Kohl’s gives them as many discounts as possible. First Bank also donates $500 to this worthy cause. This financial teamwork allows the children to haul off bags of new clothes that are sometimes bigger than the shoppers themselves.

This is the 10th year that the Brentwood Rotary Club and a major department store have conducted this shopping spree.
