Spring is our favorite season in Brentwood. The weather is perfect, the flowers are blooming, and fruits are starting to be bountiful. Cherry-picking time is right around the corner, and everyone is excited that events and activities are abundant.

The Brentwood Farmers Market starts on March 15 and runs every Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in Downtown Brentwood until November 22, 2014. It will be located along First Street, between Chestnut and Oak Streets. Come out on Saturday and support our Farmers Market and the shops in Downtown Brentwood! Spring Break is on March 17-28, 2014 for many of our children here in Brentwood. Keep them active and entertained by signing them up for Spring Break Camps. Here are some information:

Cornerstone Christian Center in Antioch is hosting a Vendor Fair and Craft Market on March 21 (Friday) from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and March 22 (Saturday) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The proceeds will support the Children's Ministry at Cornerstone Christian Center. Please mark your calendars and come out and support the kids in the community! Cornerstone Christian Center is at 1745 East 18th Street, Antioch. Attention parents, grandparents, friends and families! The Mad Hatter Tea Party is on Saturday, April 5, 2014 (Saturday) from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Brentwood Senior Activity Center, 193 Griffith Lane. This event is open to everyone ages 5+. The Mad Hatter will host games, music, and a Mad Hatter Mat Contest. Participants will also enjoy tea or punch, sandwiches and special desserts. Five dollar ($5) per person, no refunds. The IHM Youth Choir is holding a Spring Tour Choral Concert on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 1:30 pm. This concert features the Loyola Marymount University Choruses Dr. Mary Breden, Conductor and with special performance by the IHM Youth Choir. Presale tickets (up to Mar. 30): $7.00 After: $12.00. The Brentwood Elementary Bazaar is on April 12, 2014 (Saturday) from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. With 150 vendors spaces surrounding the school, this is the largest event like this in the area. Garage sale items, tools, fishing gear, furniture, home deorations, camping gear, antiques, "clear out the storage unit", liquidations, candles, sport sign ups, kayaks, art, clothes, baby stuff, jewelry, beauty products, handmades, man cave must-haves, and treasures and junk of all kinds. The City of Brentwood proudly presents Movies in the Park, featuring “Field of Dreams” on April 18, 2014 (Friday) at 8:15pm at the Brentwood City Park, 710 Second Street in Downtown Brentwood. The Krey Parent's Club proudly presents the Krey Elementary School "Day on the Green" on April 25, 2014. (Friday) at the beautiful Shadow Lakes Golf Course in Brentwood. The event includes a 4-person scramble, lunch, and awards dinner reception following the golf. This tournament is held annually to benefit the students of Krey Elementary School. Loma Vista Elementary School is having their annual Spring Fling Event on Friday April 25, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Spring Fling is a fun evening of free games, prizes, jump houses, food and local vendors. Patrons can also purchase raffle tickets, and prizes include themed gift baskets put together by teachers, students and Loma Vista parents. The St. Anthony Columbiettes hosts their 5th Annual Spring Boutique on Saturday April 26th from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at St Anthony Church located at 971 O'Hara Ave in Oakley. Admission is FREE! This boutique over 20 vendors and will have raffle drawings every half hour. Join them for an afternoon of fun with lots of great vendors to shop from.
The Bay Area Boutiquers presents Swing In To Spring! at the Contra Costa Fairgrounds at 1201 West 10th Street in Antioch on April 26 and 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This event will offer fun and shopping for all ages with many vendors to choose from. The theme for this event is "Vintage Vogue”. Everyone is invited to come dressed in their classiest, sharpest clothes. Anything classic inspired by the 20’s through the 50’s. Think Dorothy Dandridge and Audrey Hepburn for the ladies, and Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin for the guys. There will be a photo contest to find out the best dressed, so make sure you are dressed in your sharpest outfit!
Take to the dance floor or just sit, listen and tap your toes as the Big Band Era comes alive with "What's Up Big Band". This Big Band Dinner Dance will be held on May 10, 2014 (Saturday) 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Brentwood Community Center, 35 Oak Street, Downtown Brentwood. You'll enjoy the music of the Big Band Legends such as Glenn Miller, Harry James, Count Basie, Perez Prado, Benny Goodman, Helen Forrest and more! "What's Up Big Band” is an 18-piece Dance Band and vocalist. So, find your favorite pair of dancing shoes and get ready to dance the night away!
