March signals the start of the season of events and outdoor activities in the Brentwood area. Let's get out there, take advantage of the nice weather, meet and support our local vendors and small business owners, and enjoy all the fun activities geared for the whole family! Here are some of the events we have information on so far. If you have an event that is not on our events calendar yet, get it in there by sending us the information.

The Spring Boutique & Family Fair is coming up! It is scheduled on March 10, 2012 (Saturday) from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Sunset Plaza along Brentwood Blvd. Parking and admission are free and there will be lots of activities for local families to enjoy, including a bounce house for kids, crafts that children can make and take home, shopping for Mom and Dad, live performances and much more! On March 17 (Saturday) 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., California Business Solutions presents the 4th Annual Brentwood Business Expo at the Shops at Fairview along Balfour Road and Fairview Avenue. This is a great way to meet and support our local merchants and small business owners in a fun-filled day for the whole family. This free admission event will have lots of silent auction items you can bid on to benefit Operation Creekside, games for kids, and more!

 

Garin Elementary School's 7th Annual Spring Boutique is on March 24 (Saturday) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Summerset IV. This annual fundraiser will have over 30 vendors selling items. The Easter Bunny will be in attendance from 10:30 until noon for pictures and treats. All vendor fees are donated to Garin Elementery School. The Bunny is BACK in Brentwood! - On March 31, 2012 (Saturday) 11:30 a.m. at the Brentwood Community Center. This event is for children aged 3-10+ parents. The $6/person admission includes lunch, crafts, contests, professional storyteller, and a special visit and photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny. The following Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. is Easter Bunny Express time at the Streets of Brentwood. Join the Easter Bunny for free visits and rides on the Party Line Express.

 

And for great Easter photos to treasure forever... Generations Photography still has a few slots for its 3rd Annual Easter Special Portrait Session on March 23 and 24 (Friday and Saturday). Check here for more information and how to book your slot.

 

 

"Big Wheels" Race on Saturday, April 21. Hop on your "Big Wheels" or tricycle and race to the finish line down the new parking structure! Race divisions include kids, teens and adults. A "wheelie" great family event! Check here for more details.

 

April 22nd is Earth Day 2012! In honor of Earth Day, Peace. Love. Swap is having an "Earth Day Celebration & Swap" from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. bringing Brentwood an awesome day of "Green" fun. Hosted by Little Miss Everything, this event calls for maternity, clothing, and gear swap. Cost is $5 for online payment, $7 at the door, and FREE for volunteers. The Green Living Coalition is also having an Earth Day celebration on that day at Hannah Nicole Vineyard from 1-4 p.m. For $10 per person, you get a Presentation On The Green Lifestyle, appetizers, one glass of wine, and raffle prizes! Oakley's 9th Annual Cinco De Mayo Community Celebration is from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at O'Hara Park Middle School. This community event will feature performances, music and food. Mad Hatter Tea Party – May 5 Saturday - "Move on Down" to this wonderland of fun. Treats, tea, crafts, and and live entertainment with "special" character meet and greets. This Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department special event will be held on May 5, 2012 (Saturday), 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Brentwood Community Center, 35 Oak Street in Downtown Brentwood. Admission is $6 per person. Celebrate Mama in Brentwood is scheduled on May 12, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Sand Creek Crossing on Sand Creek and Hwy 4 Bypass. It features a large array of information, ideas, resources, mother and child workshops, pampering services, and a wide array of gifts for Mother's Day. This free event is geared towards moms of all ages and stages, but is also a fun-filled day of music, entertainment, giveaways, and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
