Brentwood Fall
I can feel it in the air – the Brentwood fall season is almost here! The Brentwood school district calendar for the 2009-2010 schoolyear started last July 28. So while most other school districts start their year on or pretty close to the official start of the fall season, we get a few weeks of hot summer weather at the beginning of the school year. But now that we're already on the second week of September (as I was writing this), it’s almost time for cooler evenings, shorter days, and falling orange leaves. I can't wait to say goodbye to the hot Brentwood summer days!
So, what is in store for us in the Brentwood area this fall? I’ve compiled a few events below, but I’m pretty sure there’s so much more! Please take the time to read them and send us more events and ideas for enjoying the Brentwood fall season. The Brentwood Farmers Market is still on-going and I believe will be on until the end of October. It is on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Brentwood downtown. Check out our page on the Brentwood Farmers Market, including some pictures! Downtown Thursdays are held in Downtown Brentwood from June 18 – October 1, 2009. It is held right along First Street, which is closed to traffic between Oak and Chestnut (Parking is available in lots nearby). Various events for the whole family have been lined up for each of the Thursdays during this period, including car shows and other themed events, fun contests, and live music! Here’s the schedule for the rest of September and through early-October. September 10, 2009 -- Car Show September 17, 2009 -- Harvest Festival September 24, 2009 -- Brentwood Idol October 1, 2009 -- OctoberFEST October 8, 2009 -- Car Show
