Crisp, cool air with a hint of holidays to come… it’s the fall season!
First up, Halloween! Here’s what is in store for us in the Brentwood area this 2013 Halloween Season…
Smith Family Farm's Annual Pumpkin Patch, October 4-31,
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 4430 Sellers Avenue, Brentwood
Admission is $8.00 on weekdays and it is recommended that you come after noon on weekdays so as to avoid large school groups. On weekends, admission is $9.00 which includes special events such as tractor shows, music festivals and chili cook-offs. Check the Smith Family Farm website or call them at 925-625-5966 for more information about special events. A free pumpkin from the patch is included with admission. Toddlers under 18 months are free.
Events at Smith Farms on October 12-13:
Saturday and Sunday - Antique tractor expo.
Saturday Music - Banjo and Rockabilly Music
Sunday Music - Ragtime Jazz Music
All other activities like the barn show, corn maze, barnyard animal area, observation beehive, herb garden, and hayride will also be going on this weekend. As always, a pumpkin is included with admission.
Brentwood Pumpkin Fest, October 4-31
Technology Way and Brentwood Blvd, across from Jack In The Box and Autozone. Monday-Thursday 3-10pm, Friday-Saturday 10am-10pm, Sunday 10am-9pm.

2nd Annual Scarecrows in the Park, Set-Up: October 18 (Friday)
Brentwood City Park, 710 Second Street in Downtown Brentwood
Design and build your own scarecrow! Sign up with the Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department. Registration deadline: 5 pm, Friday, October 11. Scarecrow set up on October 18, 1:00-7:00 PM at the Brentwood City Park. Ribbons awarded in two categories: Non-Professional or Design Professional

Harvest Festival in Oakley, October 19 (Saturday), 12:00-4:00 p.m.
Oakley Civic Center

Senior Monster Mash, October 25 (Friday). Doors open at 6:00 p.m.

Enjoy a spooktacular evening of entertainment, fine dining, and dancing with the Brentwood Senior Citizens Club, Inc. The night will feature music, a costume contest, and a delicious chicken dinner with all the trimmings and some hot apple pie. Fall Movies in the Park, October 25 (Friday), 7:00 p.m.

First and Oak Streets, Downtown Brentwood
Trick or treat in Downtown Brentwood on First and Oak Streets from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. Contact the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce if you are interested in setting up a merchant booth at this event.
Karaoke Halloween Dance Party, October 30 (Wednesday), 6:00-11:00p.m.
Shadow Lakes Event Center, 401 West County Club Drive, Brentwood

3rd Annual All Saints & Angels Carnival, October 31 (Thursday),
Immaculate Heart of Mary church, 500 Fairview Avenue, Brentwood
Free event with carnival games, prizes, food including cotton candy, hotdogs, and lots of candy and more! This is a family friendly night for IHM parishioners. Prizes for best costumes (no scary or demonic costumes please). If you would like to bring a bag or two of candy, IHM would appreciate it.
Circus Night, October 31 (Thursday), 6:00-8:30 p.m.
Harvest Time Assembly of God, 2200 Ventura Drive, Brentwood
The Harvest Time Assembly of God is having their Circus Night on October 31 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. This annual free admission event is always fun and enjoyable for kids!
Annual Fall Festival, October 31 (Thursday), 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Hosted by Discovery Christian School, 193 Griffith Lane, Brentwood
Everyone is welcome! There will be lots of games, a pie eating contest, cake walk, candy and lots of fun for all ages. Raffle tickets are available for prizes to be announced at 9:00pm to end the Festival. The grand prize is an iPad mini. Other prizes include gift certificates to Cap's, Red Lobster, Safeway, CreAsian, Spa, Florist, Wal-Mart, Personal Trainer, Childcare, Dino's, Faux Finishing, Avon, Curves and Oil Change & Detail from Bill Brandt Ford.
