Events and Activities in the Brentwood Area
Among the many things we love about the fall season are the clean, crisp air and the anticipation of the many holidays just around the corner.
Let’s start off with Halloween. We’ve rounded up all the information we can gather about Halloween-related events in and around the area, and here is what we have so far:
Smith Family Farm's Pumpkin Harvest, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. through October at 4430 Sellers Avenue, Brentwood. A Brentwood tradition during the Halloween season is a morning or afternoon at the Smith Family Farm’s Pumpkin Harvest. There are many activities and events throughout the month of October for the whole family. It’s open to the public 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. everyday. Admission is $9 on weekdays and $12 (adults) and $10 (children) on weekends. Check out the Smith Family Farm page here.
Harvest Festival in Oakley, October 17, 2015 (Saturday), 12:00 noon at Oakley Civic Center Plaza. Come enjoy the Annual Harvest Festival in Oakley with activities for the whole family, including a costume parade around a park, a special costume parade for canine friends and various activities for kids. Bring a pre-carved or decorated pumpkin to enter in the contest – prizes awarded (funniest, scariest, most creative). More information here: Oakley Recreation Guide for Fall/Winter 2015
Brentwood Family Aquatic’s Pumpkin Splash Down, October 17, 2015 (Saturday) 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at 195 Griffith Lane. Come for an evening of music, fun, and games. The rec side of the facility, including the slides, will be open for swimming. $2 per person. Check out the event page here.
City of Brentwood’s 4th Annual Scarecrows in the Park, Scarecrows will be displayed in the City Park beginning October 19, 2015 (Monday) at the City Park, 710 Second Street in Downtown Brentwood. Design and build your own scarecrow! Sign up with the Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department. Registration deadline: 5 pm, Wednesday, October 14. Ribbons awarded in two categories: Non-Professional or Design Professional. Stop by the Parks and Recreation Department to pick up your registration form or download from www.brentwoodca.gov. Fee is $15 per scarecrow. Check out the event page here.
The City of Brentwood proudly presents... Movies in the Park, October 23, 2015 (Friday), 6:15 p.m. at the City Park, 710 Second Street in Downtown Brentwood. Featuring “Disney’s Hocus Pocus" on the big screen in City Park, beginning at 6:15 p.m. Bring your lawn chair, picnic dinner, and blankets! Check out the event page here.
Friday Movies at the Park at the Discovery Bay Community Center, October 23, 2015 (Friday) at 1601 Discovery Bay Blvd, Discovery Bay. The movie “Hotel Transylvania” starts at dusk. Blankets and chairs are recommended as the weather will be cool and the movie will be shown rain or shine. Check out the event page here.
The Witches Ball at the Brentwood Community Center October 23, 2015 (Friday), 7:30-10:30 p.m. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. at 35 Oak Street, Brentwood. Bring your best ghoul and dance the night away to the “Crystal Image Band.” Fun raffles, costume contest, bar (cash only), and lots of tasty finger foods to eat. Taro card reader and paranormal activity. Please consider dining at some of our downtown restaurants prior to attending the Withes Ball. Bewitching Fun Event, October 24, 2015 (Saturday), 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Sand Creek Crossing, Sand Creek Road, Brentwood. Come and enjoy this FREE event with trick-or-treating, meet the Red & Pink Power Rangers, free pumpkins, street entertainment and so much more. Check it out at the Sand Creek Crossing website.
Brentwood Hometown Halloween, October 24 (Saturday), 5:00-7:30 p.m. on Oak Street in Downtown Brentwood. A night of safe trick-or-treating in Downtown Brentwood! For more information about the event or if you are interested in setting up a booth, check out the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce website.
Halloween Trunk-or-Treat 2015 on October 25, 2015 (Sunday), 11:00 am – 2:00 p.m. at the Streets of Brentwood, 2565 Sand Creek Road, Brentwood. The Contra Costa Humane Society and The Streets of Brentwood present Halloween Trunk-or-Treat 2015! Activities include a Pet and Owner Duo/Family Costume Contest and Trunk-or-Treat Contest. Circus Night, October 31, 2015 (Saturday), 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Harvest Time Assembly of God, 2200 Ventura Drive, Brentwood. The Harvest Time Assembly of God is having their Circus Night on October 31. Have a fun and safe Halloween night with jumpy houses, bike giveaways, lots of candy, and more! This annual free admission event is always fun and enjoyable for kids! Check out their website.
Spirited Sanctuary 1st Annual Halloween Carnival, October 31, 2015 (Saturday), 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at 3460 Orwood Rd in Brentwood. Fun for all ages, especially for animal lovers because all proceeds go to help unwanted, neglected, abandones or abused animals in our community.
