Halloween is just around the corner.  Below, we’ve gathered some of the events happening in the next 2 weeks leading up to the event.

Smith Family Farm's Pumpkin Harvest is open, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on weekends and 12:00 pm-5:00 pm on weekdays, through October at 4430 Sellers Avenue, Brentwood. A Brentwood tradition during the Halloween season is a morning or afternoon at the Smith Family Farm’s Pumpkin Harvest. There are many activities and events throughout the month of October for the whole family. Admission is $10 on weekdays and $12 (adults) and $10 (children under 12) on weekends.  Check out the Smith Family Farm page here.


Movies in the Park at the Brentwood City Park.  The Wizard of Oz will be shown on October 20, 2017 (Friday) starting at 6:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chair, picnic dinner, and blankets!  Come to the City Park before the movie for food vendors, lawn games, and music.  Check out City of Brentwood’s Parks and Recreation Fall Guide here.


Harvest Festival in Oakley, October 21, 2017 (Saturday), 12:00 noon at Oakley Civic Center Plaza. Come enjoy the Annual Harvest Festival in Oakley with activities for the whole family, including a costume parade around a park, a special costume parade for canine friends and various activities for kids. Bring a pre-carved or decorated pumpkin to enter in the contest – prizes awarded (funniest, scariest, most creative). More information here: City of Oakley Recreation Guide Fall 2017.


Scarecrows on display.  The sign-ups are over already, but you can still enjoy the scarecrows built and displayed in both Brentwood and Discovery Bay.

In Brentwood: The City of Brentwood’s Annual Scarecrows in the Park, Scarecrows will be displayed beginning October 20, 2017 (Friday) at the City Park, 710 Second Street in Downtown Brentwood. In Discovery Bay:  The Town of Discovery Bay’s Scarecrow Festival, Scarecrows will be displayed from October 20-28, 2017 at the Community Center, 1601 Discovery Bay Blvd.  Winner will be announced on October 28 before the Movie in the Park.  Check out the Town of Discovery Bay’s Park and Recreation Fall Guide here.

Saturday Movie in the Park at the Discovery Bay Community Center is on October 28, 2017 (Saturday) at 1601 Discovery Bay Blvd, Discovery Bay. The movie Guardians of the Galaxy  (PG-13) starts at dusk.  Admission is free!  Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy a wonderful night with yout family, friends, and neighbors. Bewitching Fun Event, October 28, 2017 (Saturday), 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Sand Creek Crossing, Sand Creek Road, Brentwood. Come and enjoy this FREE event with trick-or-treating, free pumpkins, live music, street entertainment and so much more.  Check out the Sand Creek Crossing website.


Brentwood Hometown Halloween, October 28, 2017 (Saturday), 5:00-7:30 p.m. on Oak Street between Diablo Way and Third Streets in Downtown Brentwood. A night of safe trick-or-treating in Downtown Brentwood! For more information about the event check out the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce website.


Trunk or Treat 2017 & Public Safety Fair is on October 29, 2017 (Sunday) from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Streets of Brentwood. This event is presented by the Streets of Brentwood and the Brentwood Police Department.  Public safety fair, trunk-or-treat car decorating, treat or treating, and more!  For details and more information, please check out the Streets of Brentwood website events page.
