The Brentwood public library is located near downtown, adjacent to the city park and in the same area as the city hall. It is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The library has reading programs for all ages - younger kids from birth to 5 years old, school-aged kids, teens, and adults. All programs are free!

The Oakley public library is located in the Freedom High School Complex. It is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays.To learn more about the Oakley public library, check out this link.

The recently remodeled 11,000 square foot Antioch public library is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. The Delta First 5 Center in downtown Brentwood provides free programs and services that help make a difference in the most critical years of a child's brain development, ages 0 through 5. The programs are developed to promote early childhood development, school readiness, healthy parent-child relationships, and positive parenting practices. Barnes and Noble on Slatten Ranch Shopping Center on Lone Tree Way in Antioch is open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.

It has a huge section for kids, which includes a Thomas the train set and a reading area. They also offer storytime events for pre-school kids (3-6 years) and beginning readers (5-8 years).

The city runs a whole range of community classes for kids and adults. There are classes for kids as young as 2 years olds. Among the programs available for kids are: swimming, soccer, and other sports, science, art, music, and dance.

There is also a growing number of establishments that offer kids classes and activities in fitness, gymnastics, music, dance, and swimming, among others.
