The highly anticipated Universal Abilities Playground, located at Veterans Park (3841 Balfour Road, Google Map here.) opened February 1, 2013. This custom designed, pirate-themed playground serves children of all ages and abilities. Some features of this unique play structure, which is the first of its kind in the East County, include multi-color rubberized surfacing, wheelchair ramps, interactive panels, an accessible Merry-Go-All, a ‘Rockin Raft’, and much more.

The newly-redesigned City Park in Downtown Brentwood offers a variety to young and older kids alike. It now features, among others, a new playground and water feature, barbeque and picnic areas, and a nice outdoor performance area.

The City Park is in the same area as the Brentwood Library and the new Community Center, so families can spend time in a couple of places without having to move the car. This is a real sanity-saver especially for moms with more than one kid!
