School is out and the Brentwood summer weather is definitely in.

Summer Camps

School is finally over and it’s time to plan our kids’ activities for the next seven or so weeks. There’s an abundance of options in the area, from multi-week, full-day summer camps to hourly activities. Check here for the links to various summer camps, classes and activities. ►

 

Summer Events and More
The Brentwood Farmers Market is running on Saturday mornings, from March 15 – November 22, 2014, from 8:00 – 12:00 noon. It’s along First Street, between Chestnut and Oak, in Downtown Brentwood.

 

Watch a family movie for $1.50! The Family Film Festival Summer Series at the Cinelux Delta Cinema Saver is on again this year. It’s on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. from  June 11-12 to July 23-24. Check out the list of movies and more information here.

The City of Brentwood presents Starry Nights in Brentwood, Summer Concert Series 2014.  Fridays from June 13 – August 22 (except July 4 and 11), 7pm-9pm at the City Park in Downtown Brentwood.  Check out the line-up here.

 

Movies in the Plaza at Oakley  Civic Center Plaza.  Enjoy a movie under the stars in the heart of Downtown Oakley. Admission is free and movies start at dusk.  Bring your blankets and lawn chairs.  Snacks available for purchase.  For more information, check out the Oakley Recreation Guide Spring/Summer 2014.

 

Brentwood Relay for Life is on June 21-22, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Liberty High School on 820 Second Street, Brentwood. Check out their event page.

 

H.A.L.O.’s 16th Annual Ramble and Pet Apperication Day at the Streets of Brentwood on June 29, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Bring your whole family and especially the 4-legged ones for a fun-filled day while supporting H.A.L.O and other local rescue groups.  More information here.

 

4th of July Kids Parade at the Streets of Brentwood on July 4, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Check out event details and participation rules and regulations here.

 

Oakley’s Cityhood Celebration is on July 5, 2014 (Saturday) at Freedom Basin Park.  Celebrate Oakley’s 15th birthday with jumpies, games, food, music, and fireworks. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the fun. Wristbands at $5. Kids 5 and under are free. More information at the Oakley Recreation Guide Spring/Summer2014.

 

The Harvest Time Festival is a two-day celebration of our farmland’s harvest. It will be held on Downtown Brentwood and the City Park on July 12 and 13, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Food, fun, and entertainment for the entire family, and admission is free!  Check out the event flyer here.

 

Bark for Life, A Canine Event to Fight Cancer on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Streets of Brentwood.  A day of fun with your 4-legged friends!  Featuring pet games, family games, pet adoptions, contests, and much more.  More information about this event here and here.

 

Put your cowboy hats on and come over for a Western Style Senior BBQ on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 12-3pm at the Veterans Park (picnic area).  Senior Club members: FREE and Non-members: $5.  To register, call the City of Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department at 925.516.5444.  Click to see their flyer for more information.
