We have festivals, summer concerts, outdoor movies, campfires, water park days, car shows, bike challenge, farmers’ markets, and even a dog parade.

Below is our (growing) list of events and activities in and around Brentwood
for June, July, and August 2017.  If you have an event or activity coming up that’s open to the public, please submit them to us through our Events Website at www.brentwoodevents.com (instead of via email).

 


The Brentwood Farmers' Market is ongoing through summer - every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. It started back on March 4, 2017 and will be on until mid-November. It’s in Downtown Brentwood, on First and Oak Streets.

Friday Movies in the Park at Discovery Bay, June 9, 2017 to July 28, 2017 (except June 30) at the Discovery Bay Community Center, 1601 Discovery Bay Blvd.  Admission is free and all movies begin at dusk. Brentwood 2017 Summer Bike Challenge. Explore your hometown from the seat of a bike!  Free and fun for all ages. Bike to parks, schools, the library, the City Hall, Farmers Market, Downtown, the Aquatic Complex – and win free stuff and prizes along the way! The City of Brentwood presents Starry Nights in Brentwood, Summer Concert Series 2016 on Fridays from June 16 – August 25 (except July 7).  The show is from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and is held at the City Park in Downtown Brentwood.  Click here to view the concert line-up.


Movies in the Plaza at Oakley Civic Center Plaza.  Enjoy a movie under the stars in the heart of Downtown Oakley. Admission is free and movies start at dusk.  Bring your blankets and lawn chairs.  Snacks available for purchase.

Friday Night Summer Campfire in Antioch on June 23, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Antioch Community Center Amphitheater, 4703 Lone Tree Way in Antioch. S’mores, snacks, songs, and stories!  There will also be a Fall Campfire on September 15, 2017 (Friday). 

 

Oakley’s Cityhood Celebration is on July 1, 2017 (Saturday) at 6:00 p.m. Freedom Basin Park.  Celebrate Oakley’s birthday with jumpies, games, food, music, and fireworks. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the fun. Wristbands are at $5. Kids 5 and under are free.  For more information, check out the City of Oakley Summer 2017 Recreation Guide


Brentwood Classic 4th of July Parade and Celebration, on July 4, 2017 (Tuesday), starting at 9:00 a.m. with a Children’s Parade, 9:10 a.m. 4th of July parade and 10:00-1:00 p.m. food, entertainment, and games at the City Park.  Check out their event flyer here.


Antioch Concert by the River in Historic Downtown Antioch on Saturday evenings from July 8th to August 26th, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Waldie Plaza (across from City Hall). For more information, check out: http://www.art4antioch.org/Summer_Postcard.asp

The 2017 Harvest Time Festival is a two-day celebration of the harvest season in Brentwood with all of our local farms and community!  Now on its 4th year, it will be held on July 8th and 9th, 2017 at the City Park in Downtown Brentwood.  For more information, check out their Event flyer.


Box Boat Derby Day at the Antioch Water Park is on July 14, 2017 (Friday). Make a cardboard and duct tape boat to race across the shallow area of the lap pool. Make your boat at home or create your boat during your day at the park (limited supplies available).  Check your boat in by 4:30 p.m., race begins at 5:00 p.m.  Prizes for fastest racers and best in show.  Find the event flyer at the City of Antioch Recreation Guide Spring 2017

 

The City of Oakley will host its Main Street Car Show and Concert on July 29, 2017 (Saturday) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Oakley Civic Center Plaza, 3231 Main Street.  Pre-registration is required, $25 includes dash plaque and goody bag. Family Game Day at the Antioch Water Park, August 4, 2017 (Friday). Park is open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Come compete in friendly games for all ages throughout the day at the park.  Earn prizes as you play!  Antioch Water Park is at 4701 Lone Tree Way.  Find the event flyer at the City of Antioch Recreation Guide Spring 2017.

 

The “Hot Brentwood Days” Car Show is on August 5, 2016 (Saturday) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Downtown Brentood.  It will be on Oak, First, and Chestnut Streets. Sponsored by the Downtown Brentwood Coalition. For more information, check out: http://www.brentwooddowntown.com/

 

Hot August Nights at the Brentwood Family Aquatic Complex, all Saturdays in August 2017: August 5, 12, 19, 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Fee is $2 per person.  There will be music, games, themed parties, and night swimming. All the same facility rules apply.  Children under the age of 6 must be accompanies by a chaperone 15 years of age or older. Oakley’s Annual Kids Fishing Derby is on August 12, 2017 (Saturday) at the Oakley/Antioch Shoreline Pier. Registration at 8:00 a.m. and the Derby at 9:00-11:00 a.m. It will be a fun-filled day of “catch and release” fishing for children up to age 15 and families. Bark in the Park, A Dog Parade on August 19, 2017 (Saturday) at 9:00 a.m. at the Brentwood City Park, Corner of Second and Oak Streets in Downtown Brentwood. To register, dogs must be properly licensed, tagged, and current on their vaccinations. All dogs must be on a leash and are encouraged to wear costumes. This event is hosted by the Brentwood Neighborhood Committee.


The Oakley Summer Concert in the Park is on August 26, 2017 (Saturday) at the Civic Center Plaza. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets.  Admission is free.  For more information, check out the City of Oakley Summer 2017 Recreation Guide.
