City of Brentwood Now Accepting Application For
Business License Tax City Grant Program
BRENTWOOD, Calif., February 7, 2011 - The City of Brentwood is now accepting applications for the 2011/2012 Business License Tax Grant Program starting February 7, 2011. This program allows for twenty percent (20%) of the business license tax collected to be set aside for economic development, for the explicit purpose of business promotion and institutional advertisement for the City of Brentwood. Approximately $148,767 will be available for the 2011/2012 award cycle.
Organizations, including the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce, may apply annually to the City for these funds on a project by project basis. Funding priorities will be made to certain business districts, including the Downtown. Also, projects should align with the current City Council Goals & Strategic Plan, which can be found on the City's website. Disbursement of these funds would require City Council approval. Applications will be available on February 7, 2011 and are due to the City no later than March 31, 2011, for consideration of approval. An orientation for interested applicants will be held on Thursday, February 24th at 4:00 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room located at 118 Oak Street.
