What is Brentwood Rotary Club?

Brentwood Rotary is a service organization of community leaders who meet weekly to enjoy fun and fellowship, and then do things to build a better community, serve others at home and around the world.

What is your mission/vision?

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

FIRST: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

SECOND: High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business and community life;

FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

“Peace through Service” was last year’s theme. This year it’s “Engage Rotary, Change Lives.”

Please give us some information on the organization’s major projects:

Eradicate Polio worldwide (almost there!), Kohl’s Shopping Spree for needy kids, Support the Community Chest for holiday gifts and meals for needy families, Rotarians at Work Day where we help people in the community with what they need. This year we helped out at Shepherds Gate, we’re painting huge US maps at all the Brentwood elementary schools, we give dictionaries to all 3rd grade children, the list is endless. We do service projects locally as well as internationally.

How can the community best help your cause, and how can they contact you?

We are always looking for new members who are interested in giving back to their community and the world at large. If membership is not for you, participating in some of our biggest fundraisers (all fun events) so we can raise more money to do goodwill throughout our community.
