There’s a lot to check out and even more to look forward to in terms of new shopping and restaurants in Brentwood this 2013 and in early 2014. We’ve looked around and snooped around, and here’s what we found:

New Shops and Restaurants Downtown

There are several new shops and restaurants that opened in the Downtown area in the last several months.

Have you been to Presence, Boards ‘N More, Moxy Boutique, and The Wholesale Patio Store?  They are all located along Oak Street in the Downtown area.  The former Stories Bookshop along First Street is now All Inked Up Bookstore and Hometown Memories. Plan a trip to the area and check them all out.

Downtown Brentwood is also home to quite a few new restaurants and hang-out places you can try.  Uptown 1st Street Lounge, a nice coffee shop during the day, turns into a hot nightspot when the lights go down at night.  Orleans Restaurant promises a taste of Louisiana in Brentwood.  Both are located at 613 First Street.  Brentwood Dog House, a specialty hotdog and sausage place is also located along First Street while What a Grind Coffee House, which also offers sandwiches, bagels, and pastries, is along 2nd Street.

More Consignment Stores in Town

It seems like the Consignment Store bug has hit us even more so this year.  Four new stores are open, in addition to the ones that have been around. The new consignment stores we found are:

  • Bearly Worn Boutique on Eagle Rock Way at the Vic Stewart Plaza

  • New 2 You Label Xchange along Sand Creek Road near Mabuhay Filipino Foods and Services

  • Traveling Pants along Balfour Road near Tummies to Tots

  • Threads along Second Street near Willy’s Bagels and Blends

The News at the Streets

The new Starbucks at the Streets of Brentwood, yes, the one with the drive-thru is now open!  In addition, Johnny Garlic’s will be opening at the end of the year at the location were Grazie’s was located.  Sweet Bliss Cupcakes near the AMC Theatres also looks like it’s opening very soon! We can hardly wait!

If you’ve been to the Streets recently, you have probably noticed the construction that’s underway on a new building, fronting Sand Creek Road and directly east of BJ’s Brewhouse.  This new 8,000 square foot building will house Black Angus Steakhouse, which is gearing up to open early next year.

Two new shops are also slated to open soon, including Maurice’s, a women’s fashion line, which is located near the theatre.  Sleep Number Beds will be opening later this month in the same building as Starbucks. Two other smaller retail units are in that building, and we’re excited to see what else is coming!

Incidentally, a new freeway sign will be erected soon to provide better freeway visibility for the tenants.

More Around Town

More restaurants have opened in town recently, including Dad’s Café, a new restaurant/café along Second Street where Perko’s used to be.  Bombay Clay Pit opened along Balfour Road and Fairview Avenue. Right next to it is Mr. Pickles Sandwich Shop, which is scheduled to open soon.

The popular Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is also now open! The Grand Opening Celebration happened on October 24, 2013 with the first 100 guests in line, some of them camping out from the night before, getting free doughnuts for a year. This sweet haven is located at the Sand Creek Crossing, at 2530 Sand Creek Road Suite B1, which is where the Starbucks used to be.

Other new shops that opened recently include Tuesday Morning, also at the Sand Creek Crossing, and Big Red Shoes, which is located at the Lone Tree Plaza.
