Things to Do in Brentwood
Whether you are a resident or a visitor to Brentwood, there is a range of things you can do to enjoy the area and beyond.
Play a round of golf. Our city offers three beautiful golf courses, all within a 5-minute drive of each other. Check out our page on the area's golf courses here.
Shop till you drop. The increase in population and average household income in Brentwood have made it one of the top ten growing retail markets in California in 2007. There's a whole range of shopping available in the area, and lots more in the pipeline. Let's support our community - let's Shop Local!
Pick some cherries (and other produce, too). The area becomes even more alive in the Spring and Summer with over 30 farms open for fruit-picking. We have cherries, strawberries, peaches, nectarines, and other fruits, nuts, vegetables, and herbs. Check out our page on cherry-picking in Brentwood.
Enjoy our festivals and events. Brentwood hosts an annual festival in July, an art, wine, and jazz festival, and a number of other festivals all year round. Aside from these, the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce also sponsors an annual Hometown Halloween event and the Holiday Parade.
Eat to your heart's delight. Our city alone is home to over 100 restaurants, quick bite places, and coffee shops, and there's more if you include the ones in the neighboring towns. We have all kinds of cuisine now: American, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Filipino, Vietnamese, Hawaiian, and more! We have all sorts of coffee shops, sports bars, breakfast places, buffet restaurants, golf-view dining, specialty barbeque places, high-end steak restaurants, sushi bars and teppanyaki restaurants, and upscale downtown dining.
There is also the Chamber of Commerce-sponsored "A Taste of Brentwood" restaurant tour where you can sample participating restaurants in the area. This sells out easily, so make sure you check with the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce, mark your calendars to catch the next one!
Rockin' and Jumpin' in Brentwood. Rockin' Jump - The Ultimate Trampoline Park is open in Brentwood. Located behind the Home Depot at 5641 Lone Tree Way, this is an awesome place for families and friends of all ages to let loose and have a blast. Attractions include a huge open trampoline jump area, trampoline dodge-ball, slam dunk basketball courts, a climbing wall, a huge stunt airbag and the ever popular X-Beam jousting arena. They have four party rooms, a full service cafe, parent lounge, and free wifi, making it a great choice for your next birthday party, fundraising event, or family outing. Rockin' Jump is open every day, so check their website for hours, discounts, and special events.
Go Bowling. Open from 9 a.m. until late at night, Brentwood bowling enthusiasts can bowl to their heart's delight at Harvest Park Bowl, a reasonably-priced, family-friendly establishment. Youth and seniors are offered special pricing, and you can also inquire about bowling lessons. They hold leagues and events throughout the year. They also host birthday parties and serve good food at their snack bar.
See a movie. The Cinelux Delta Cinema Saver in our historic downtown offers 2 screens. You can check out movie times, prices, and directions to our historic downtown theater here. In addition, the opening of the Streets of Brentwood brought with it 14 new screens including an iMAX theater.
Sample our wines. Our city is home to hundred of acres of vineyards. Our wines are served in many restaurants in the area and beyond. Check out the following vineyards for more information on their wines, wine clubs, and wine tasting schedule.

Make it a park day. Our city is home to over 50 (and counting) mostly newer, and nicely maintained, public parks. Most have a children's playground, barbeque area, and one is even dedicated to man's best buddy. Find out where the parks are.
Catch a live concert or go see a free movie at the park. Friday evenings during our warm summer season need not be either boring or expensive. The city organizes Starry Nights, a free concert series at the City Park in downtown Brentwood, from 7 pm to 9 pm. In addition, from time to time during the warm season, the City also sponsors a movie night at the park.

If you are 55 or older, this ones for you! Our town has an active senior community, with a range of activities, classes, and events geared at those 55 or better. We have a page dedicated for you on our website and we also regularly post the Brentwood Senior Citizens’ Club’s events and activities. Here is the Brentwood Senior Citizens’ Club’s current newsletter to get a feel of what activities are in store for you.
Buy fresh, buy local at the farmer's market. On Saturday mornings from 8 am to 12 noon starting in early-spring and lasting until mid- to late-fall. Check out this page for more information about the Brentwood Farmers Market.
Bike for fun and fitness. Do you know that Brentwood has been awarded a bronze medal for being a bike-friendly community? The city has miles of bike-friendly areas for bike enthusiasts.
Take a hike. We are fortunate to live in a place blessed with miles and miles of hiking trails. It is definitely a waste not to take advantage!
Play tennis for fun and fitness. The city boasts of a couple of public parks that has a tennis court. Check out the Balfour-Guthrie Park at 1301 Balfour Road and the Creekside Park at 1010 Claremont Drive. In addition, the Diamond Hills Sports Club and Spa in Oakley is a dream come true for tennis enthusiasts.
Dip in the pool. For those who do not have their own pool, the Brentwood Family Aquatic Complex is one of the many alternatives. It is located at 195 Griffith Lane, and is usually open from February to October. Call (925)516-5430 for current schedule. Nearby Antioch also has the Antioch WaterPark at 4701 Lone Tree Way.
Visit the Skate Park. For those who love to skate, whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced, the Brentwood Skate Park is the perfect place to be. It has an 18,000 square foot area which includes ledges, rails, rollers, and boxes.
Play bocce. Adjacent to the Brentwood Aquatic Park is the Veterans Park at 3841 Balfour Road. The park features 4 bocce courts, in addition to a sand volleyball court, children's play area, picnic areas, and a walking path.
Ready for a ghost adventure? The Brentwood Historic Ghost Tours does ghost tours to historically haunted locations in the area, all over Northern California and Nevada. They share the history of each location and conduct paranormal investigations to communicate with spirits who have not yet left. Check out this page for more information.
