Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)
MOPS is a place where moms can come and experience a morning of fun, guest speakers, support, creative activities and enjoy an uninterrupted breakfast with other ladies.
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. Eight women established MOPS in 1973 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. MOPS is designed to nurture moms of young children as well as provide a much needed break.
Any ladies who are pregnant and/or have children up through fifth grade are welcome at MOPS. Although we meet at Golden Hills church, you do not need to attend there to come to MOPS. We meet in room 129/130 in the sanctuary building on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 9:00 AM until 11:15 AM.
There is a yearly fee of $23.95 and the meetings are $10 ($9 if you prepay for the semester). The meeting fees cover the costs for childcare (including the children's snacks and supplies), our hospitality supplies and memberships of mothers in need of scholarships. Scholarships are available and are kept confidential.
The first Thursday of the month we do a creative activity. If you do not wish to participate in the activity, feel free to either bring something to do from home (e.g. thank you cards or knitting) or just chit chat with other moms. The third Thursday of the month we have a guest speaker. The topics can range from parenting, budgeting, first aid, authors of books and family traditions.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of the co-coordinators, Cindy Clancy at email@example.com or Michelle Mathat at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our Facebook page is MOPS of Golden Hills Community Church.
